Former 2016 State Senate Candidate, John George of Marengo, is a Libertarian candidate for Iowa’s 75th District State Representative. Iowa’s 75th House District covers all of Benton County, as well as Hilton, Honey Creek, Marengo and Washington townships, and the communities of Marengo and Conroy, located in northern Iowa County.
John majored in Political Science with a Minor in Legal Studies at Columbia College, and has spent the better part of the last decade as a rising political advocate and leader. He has served as Associate Representative for the Libertarian Party of Iowa for the state’s 1st congressional district, former Vice-Chair of the Johnson County Libertarian Party, and currently serves as the Chair of the Iowa County Libertarian Party. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors and is the Associate Lobbyist for the non-profit organization Families United Action Network. FUAN is the leading family law reform organization in the State of Iowa and has a continued presence at the Capital Building in Des Moines as a watchdog for justice and equality for Iowa families and children.
John has lived in Marengo for close to ten years where he owns a small business and helps raise his six year old twin daughters, Gemma and Aimee, with their mother, Monica.
